Hi,

I have some data from a logger which is stepped (multiple y-values for the same x-value), and I wondered if there was any way for DPlot to be able to convert the plot into a 'smoothed' version. It's like the reverse of the 'Make Step Plot...' Is this possible?

Regards,

Rod Giles

I have a couple of plugins for the Generate menu that I just noticed strangely are not included in the distribution. I'll fix that for the next release. In the meantime you can download them here:

http://www.dplot.com/plugins/generate/xdupes.dll (Average Duplicate X's...)
and
http://www.dplot.com/plugins/generate/xpeak.dll (Peak Y Values with Duplicate X's...)

Save these to the \plugins\generate folder below dplot.exe. If you use the default installation folder that will be c:\Program Files\DPlot\plugins\generate (or c:\Program Files (x86)\DPlot\plugins\generate on 64-bit systems).

Edit: xpeak.dll link has been corrected.

David, are these plugins supposed to ask for a curve to operate on? I have a plot with multiple curves, but the plugins don't ask any questions, and they don't seem to affect any of the curves. I'm trying out the average duplicate X's command.

I'm using 2.3.4.3 on WinXPPro.

They both automatically operate on all curves. I should probably change that to allow you to select curves and ask whether you want to replace the existing data (now automatic).

If you're not seeing any result, send me a saved DPlot file to support@dplot.com.

Guess I spoke too soon about "nothing happened". Data looked like it had multiple y's for x's, but it did not. Data was just packed tighter than I thought. I made up a test curve and inserted a couple of extra points, and it acted as you said.

But yes, please, add the selection and request about replacement. I could see this function have some good uses with the data that I work with.

Thanks.
