contour plot as JPG

Post by AWaterman »

Hi David,

When I save a contour plot as a jpg, the image appears to be slightly clipped, so that it loses the text of the numbers on the legend at the right hand side (version 2.3.0.3)

Please save your graph as a DPlot file and send it to me along with the JPG.

Thanks for the files. I'm not sure what I fouled up there but will fix it as soon as possible. In the meantime you can get around the problem by using "Specify plot size" under Extents/Intervals/Size on the Options menu.

Well, to me it is curious in a "how in tarnation did I foul that up?" kind of way .

It turns out this has been fouled up for a good long time. If you used a resolution > 100 dpi and did not "Specify Plot Size", the legend was likely clipped. Until the next release the answer is to use "Specify Plot Size". I'm fairly certain I have this worked out on my system but need to test a lot before another release.

Thanks for pointing out the problem.
