Dunno how hard it would be to implement, or if it has already been implemented and I just haven't found it yet, but this plot request was directed at me back when I was throwing together stuff. I had no idea how to do it gracefully.
It's a 2D image on the bottom face of a 3D plot. One added function might be to have a shadow of the point plotted above it plotted on the image face.
It would look something like this composted image:
(note, the data on the image is NOT the data in the plot, this was thrown together to illustrate the idea) |
