Dplotlib.dll

Dave,

Where can I download the new version of the DLL interface DPLOTLIB.DLL (v.2.1.0.6) referred to in the DPlot v. 2.1.4.0 release notes ?
The one found in the downloads area is v. 2.1.0.5 from Sept. 27.

Dave,

No need to react. I copied the exe-file from a colleague's installation.
Everything now works OK.

Dave, Sorry for this late reply. I have installed the full v.2.1.3.2, previously received via the update facility. After re-installing again there is no trace of the WEBUPDATESVC.EXE file in the install directory, which explains why nothing happens when I click the update button, but I can't figure ...

Web update ceased to work

Dave,

Actually this is probably not a bug per se, but for odd
(Windows XP) reasons, I had to un-install and re-install DPLOT,
and somewhat to my surprise the convenient Web update
facility no longer works.
Any clues - Registry settings, or .. ?

Command for 'MinorGridLines' or similar functionality

Hi Dave, When I run Dplot 'manually' I can control the 'Minor/grid tick divisions' on the X- & Y-axes via the 'Options->Extents...'. menu. The result of my choices are reflected in the associated .grf-file under the tag 'MinorGridLines'. Now I want to control DPlot from a Fortran90 program using...

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I don't think I would ever use 'Points', but I would like to have the 'mm' option available, since this is my preferred unit.
Not a big deal though, but more of the 'nice to have' than 'need to have'
type of wish.

Bug in units selection

Dave, Thanks for the 2.102 release. Being a European I appreciate the possibility to choose metric length units, but when selecting 'mm' in the 'Options->General' menu, the unit comes out as 'cm' in the 'Specify Plot Size' box. Similarly, when choosing 'Points', the unit comes out as 'Inch'. Regards...

Function parser error

I'm plotting some functions using the 'Generate -> Y=f(X)' option. For some odd reason the following expression returns identically zero for x in [0;3], dX=0.01 f(x) = 5.*(cosh(4.*x)+4.*cosh(2.*x)+3.) If I build up the expression term by term, everything works fine, until I enclose in parentheses. T...

Dave, Take care and take your time to recover - judging from the X-Ray posted it looks like a collar-bone fracture. I know exactly how it feels (from too much skiing) , especially the pain you have to sustain when you have to drive 800+ km with a bone fracture like yours. This is *not* a big issue -...

Dave,

I exit by clicking the upper right cross in the editor window,
not via File->Exit.

I have just checked that if I use File->Exit instead, then the
DPMAX.EXE disappears from the Task Manager list.

Macro Editor

Dave, I have experienced problems with the Macro facility in DPlot. I am using the current ver. 1.9.8.1 under Win2k/SP4. Here is what happens : I open the Macro Editor (File->Macro), choose an existing macro for Edit/Create, which brings up DPMAC.EXE in the Task Manager's process list. Then I edit (...

Font problems introduced 1.9.1.7 beta

I have run into problems when attempting to change fonts in the most recent release, 1.9.1.7 beta. Selecting 'Fonts>>' in e.g. Legend/Labels results in the error message : 'Error in GetPrinterDC for default printer' followed by a message that no fonts are installed. Reverting back to ver. 1.9.1.5 be...

Dave, Thanks for the prompt response and the new 1.908 rel. I am still finding problems with the EqualIntervals command though. Eg. generate y(x) = 0.12+0.26*sin(26*x) (x in radians) within x = 3.1 to 3.5 with a spacing of dx=0.002, corresponding to a total of 201 points. Now use EqualIntervals (Cub...

EqualIntervals anomalies

I am using EqualIntervals (Cubic Spline interpolation) simply to increase the number of data points so as to produce smoother curves. For a long time I have noticed that very often the last data point is not regenerated in the interpolation process. This can be easily fixed by cutting and pasting th...

AddCurves in MACROs

I have been using AddCurves in MACROs for a while, which is very convenient, since one can do simple operations on existing curves 'unattended', i.e. without being interrupted. With the new rel. 1.9, a window pops up whenever I call AddCurves in my MACRO, waiting for input for a function (e.g. y1+y2...
