DPlot Forum Update Complete

The DPlot Forum update is complete. The database of forum users, posts, and content has all been successfully migrated to MySQL 8 and the forums now operate on phpBB 3.3. We have confirmed user credentials and other content from the previous forum database remain valid. There does appear to be one m...

Updating Forum Database to MySQL 8

The DPlot forums went down recently due to an unexpected upgrade by the website host to MySQL 8.0. The database has temporarily been moved to an alternate server to get the forums back online. We will be working over the next couple of weeks to backup and transfer the DPlot forums to a new MySQL 8.0...

Can you provide an example of the problem you are seeing? Or some sample data that produces this behavior? I cannot replicate the error you are describing without additional information or data to attempt to recreate what you are doing.

Thanks for the image. I am not seeing an easy way to adjust the curve label positions at the present time. However, this is a good suggestion to have an option to define an offset for the curve labels. I will look into adding this functionality in a future release. In the meantime, manually adding t...

Are you able to provide an image of the graph you are trying to add labels to? When I am plotting multiple curves in my work, I typically rely on legends with different curve lines and line or point patterns to distinguish between them. What you seem to be describing sounds more like text for a Poin...

Change of ownership

Please Note. From the author. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am no longer able to support DPlot. Because I do not want it to simply fade away, I have sold the company and DPlot to another company. This is a reputable engineering and science research firm with an international presence. I...

The "Pick Columns to Plot" setting is persistent. If you select it once, it will by default be selected the next time you open a file - in this session or in subsequent sessions. However, you can get around this with ColumnsAre: FileType(4) ColumnsAre(0) ForFilesIn("*.csv") FileS...

You can try Options>Amplitude Limits but it doesn't sound like that will solve the problem. My bet is there is a break in the data after line 4619 - say a blank line. Or some value that DPlot doesn't understand, so it stops reading. You should be able to find what is going on with Notepad, but a tex...

On the Options>Multiple Axes dialog box, check the "For grid lines, use independent tick marks on dependent scales" box and see if that helps.

If not, please save your plot as a DPlot file and send it to me at support@dplot.com.

I'm a little confused about what you want to do. If so, you want to automatically export the results back to Ex...

One idea I had would be to interpret the .grf file as ASCII and parse any "Hide" lines to get this information, but this feels a bit patchwork if there are better options.
That's the only way that I can think of.

By default it sets the scale factors such that the physical distance along the X and Y axes is the same, and the distance along Z is approximately 1/2 of that. This generally fills the display nicely.

Mike,
There's no way to circumvent the behavior once an error has occurred. And within the macro there's no way to branch if some condition isn't met, like

' do your normal thing
else
' do something else
endif

Not really. About the best you can do is write a short macro and assign a shortcut key to it. For example this: LineType(-1,0) ' Sets ALL line styles to None SymbolType(-1,288) ' Sets ALL symbol styles to filled-in circles Of course if you don't want to do this for all curves then you'd need to be m...

Unless I miss something, you have not assigned the data values. So DPlot is getting a lot of undefined numbers (probably but not necessarily 0's). If that is the problem then there is likely an untrapped divide by 0 error in DPlot where it attempts to scale everything.
