I jumped into implementing XP themes several versions ago too quickly. For the most part everything looks OK on XP, with the exception of the Error Bars dialog. (All of the controls on the Vertical/Horizontal tab use the default dialog background color rather than the snazzy new (new in 2003, anyway) gradient for tab controls). On Vista things are a bit worse. In addition to the problem with tab controls, all buttons that use bitmaps rather than text are not drawn correctly. In general the buttons appear to be depressed, always, and there's no way to distinguish between a pressed/unpressed/disabled button.
These are all minor problems that have little to do with DPlot functionality. But until I solve these problems, if they irritate you as much as they irritate me then you can fix the problem by deleting or renaming the file dplot.exe.manifest, located in the folder where dplot.exe is installed. The file isn't in any way critical; all it does is tell Windows that dplot.exe should use XP-style dialog controls. Without the file you'll get the same look you had before I started down this landmine-strewn path. (In the case of DPlot Jr or DPlot Viewer, the files are named dplotjr.exe.manifest and dplotvu.exe.manifest, respectively.)
Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. _________________ David Hyde

Fixed problems mentioned above in today's version 2.1.7.9. For licensed users, the download link is the same as that sent to the mailing list for version 2.1.7.8. Licensed users who are not on the mailing list but have purchased DPlot within 2 years can get the update with the "Check for Updates" command on the Help menu. _________________ David Hyde
