Hi,
I am new to DPlot and using the evaluation copy. Will surely get the software because I am impressed so far. Good job guys.
Here is my problem. I tried to make 3D surface plots by copying data from Notepad and pasting into Dplot after selecting 3D Surface plot. I then got the following error when trying to paste
" Error Reading Numbers from Clipboard" I clicked on the OK button to continue and got another error
"Memory Allocation Error" and I clicked OK to continue
Then got a blank page. No plot no data nothing just blank.
Closed and restarted DPlot several times, still the same.
Did the same thing for 2D plots and worked perfectly without any issue. I am only deling with about 20 lines of XYZ data here so not I dont think data size is the problem.
I tried plotting the same data using the Excel Add-in and it worked for 3D plots.
I really dont like going through Excel and will love to use DPlot independently. So I need an urgent response because I want to finalize the evaluation tomorrow so that I commence using the full version for my project. Your urgent help will be appreciated please.
Cheers

Neither do I. The original error message is most likely the correct one, but at that point DPlot got confused about whether it had processed any data or not. If you'll send me the file you are having trouble with I'll look into this as soon as possible. _________________ Visualize Your Data

I have apparently fouled up interpreting times from the Clipboard for 3D data. (The reason the Excel Add-In works is that the times are sent as plain numbers - fractions of days.)
Sorry for the trouble. Will fix this as soon as possible. _________________ Visualize Your Data

David,
Thanks once again. Let me know when it is fixed. I have placed my order for DPlot and recommended it to friends and colleagues too. Great software. Cheers

Just an addendum - I'll definitely fix the problem with the clipboard, but since you said you're starting with Notepad: You can open a text file containing that data in that format by selecting file type K ("3D or 4D - X,Y,Z,... columns") on the "Select File Type" dialog and it works as expected. It is only the clipboard interpretation that is fouled up. _________________ Visualize Your Data
